Build
Delving deeper into it, the ZL1 Roto-fab Big Gulp series cold air intake system from 2012-15 boasts a throttle body connection with a 5-inch x 4.25-inch step hose, allowing seamless coupling with most 102mm and 103mm aftermarket throttle bodies. Additionally, there’s a 5-inch x 4.75-inch adapter (part number 10132059, sold separately) for those opting for larger setups. Users of the factory throttle body will need a 4-inch adapter (part number 10132004, sold separately) for installation. For optimal performance, upgrading to a higher-performance throttle body is strongly recommended. The cold air intake box features a bulb seal on top for effective hood sealing, providing lid benefits while maximizing space for a larger filter and increased air box volume. The inlet elbow includes an oversized breather port molded-in, equipped with two breather fitting sizes to accommodate various PCV configurations.
Quality
A 5-inch silicone hump hose is employed between the inlet elbow and the MAF sensor housing to dampen engine vibrations. The MAF sensor housing integrates the air box mounting flange with threaded inserts, transitioning seamlessly to a substantial 6-inch clamping surface for the filter. This configuration ensures secure attachment to the air box while sealing off any gaps around the ductwork, effectively shielding the filter from engine bay heat.
